Crafted in Topanga, CA
Crafted from 8-10 oz English bridle leather, a vegetable-tanned hide that is hand-stuffed with waxes and tallow during the currying process. Originally developed for saddlery and horse tack, it is firm, dense, and exceptionally strong, with a smooth, refined finish and a natural resistance to moisture.
English Bridle leather which often arrives with a light, whitish “bloom” on the surface. This is wax rising from within the hide and is a hallmark of quality, not a flaw. It buffs away easily with a soft cloth, revealing a deep, satin sheen beneath. The leather starts out structured and firm, then gradually softens and molds to its owner with use.
Over time, the color deepens and the surface takes on a rich, polished patina. Because of its tight fiber structure and wax content, bridle leather holds its shape and resists stretching for years. No two pieces age the same way.
Care: Buff with a soft, dry cloth to remove bloom and restore shine. Wipe away dirt with a slightly damp cloth as needed. Bridle leather is already rich in waxes, so condition sparingly, only when the surface begins to look dry. If it gets wet, let it air-dry naturally and away from direct heat.
The tray measures about 8" by 8" at the edges or widest part and the inside square measures a little under 7" by 7". It sits approximately 2" tall.
A great place to store keys, wallets and change when you return home or travel.
